Steward's Comments: Over-raced in the early stages. When asked to comment on the tactics employed, particularly in regard to the lead established on the body of the field, rider advised that he was instructed to obtain a prominent position as is the gelding racing pattern, however the gelding commenced to race extremely ungenerously and proved difficult to restrain. Rider concurred with Stewards that his mount would have benefited from a greater effort on his part to ease the pace in the back straight.
