Steward's Comments: Raced four wide without cover throughout. Tactics QRD, rdr explained that after being caught wide in early stages, she attempt to improve her position and race closer to rail. Z Lloyd added that when she rode forward from 1100m Liberty Rae which was racing to her inside improved with her and as Boulder Gold did not have sufficient speed to cross she was obliged to race wide throughout, before commencing to weaken from 400m. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding today rider explained he had been instructed to settle in a forward position and not to halt the gelding’s momentum after beginning well and obtaining a midfield position through the early stages, he elected to remain racing three wide and from near the 1200m where he allowed his mount to stride to comply with instructions.
