Nayton Mitchell trained three-year-old gelding lining up for first race start. Scored at his latest trial. Inside barrier will assist chances. No surprise to see him feature.

First starter by What's The Story out of Kay's Dream. Has a total of three trials leading in today's debut. Should be primed to run well despite a difficult gate.

Recent form sound. Comes off a 37 day let-up. Most recently 2nd of 12 at Ascot Park on November 23 over 1200m, on a slow track; 2.25 len behind So Brassy with 56.5kg at $5.50. The start before that 2nd of 8 at Wingatui on October 17 over 1200m, on rain affected going; nose behind Snow Brainer with 56.5kg at $5.70. Has good early speed and will take some running down.

Four-year-old mare (Ghibellines - Kitty O'hara) has trialled on three occasions leading into today's race. Fourth at Phar Lap Racecourse in a 1000m trial on December 9. Unlikely to find enough improvement to trouble these.

Four-year-old mare by Prince Of Brooklyn out of Hell Raiser on debut. Has had no recent barrier trials. Hard to recommend without a market push.

Having second run back today. Freshened for 41 days. Last run 6th of 13 at Phar Lap Racecourse on November 19 over 1200m, 4 len behind Blushing carrying 56kg at $2.30. At only start last preparation second last of 10 at Wanganui in the LR Wanganui Guineas on August 30 over 1200m, in the wet; 7 len behind Platinum Diamond carrying 55kg at $12.80. Will take a lot from that run and looks tough to beat.

Resuming today after a break of ten weeks. Finished off last preparation fourth of 11 at Ashburton October 19 over 1600m, 10 len behind Eight Pence with 52kg at $6.90. When resuming last campaign eighth of 13 at Phar Lap Racecourse September 24 over 1200m, soft track; 6 len behind The Fed Express with 55.5kg at $15.30. Has plenty of scope for improvement this time in work.

Second-up. First start ran last of 8 at Oamaru on July 20 over 1200m, on rain affected going; 27 len behind El Vaquero carrying 55kg at $10.80. Returned from break 6th of 14 at Ashburton on December 24 over 1200m, slow going 7 len behind Moon Goddess carrying 55.5kg at $9.50. Rates highly and expected to improve sharply.

Three-year-old filly (Written By - Givus A Cuddle) has trialled on four occasions leading into today's race. Was third in an Avondale trial over 1000m on November 14. Facing a stiff test.

Was at a huge quote at debut, 12th of 14 at Ashburton on December 24 over 1200m, slow going 12 len behind Moon Goddess carrying 53.5kg at $73.50. Can measure up.

At debut, 4th of 8 at Riccarton Park on November 12 over 1000m, slow going 2 len behind I Am Belle with 57kg at $11.30. Expect him to run well.

Back after a long spell. Only had one start last campaign ran last of 12 at Wingatui on March 28 over 1200m, on a wet track; 42 len behind No Party with 54kg at $52.60. When resuming last campaign 8th of 11 at Gore on December 22 2024 over 1200m, in the wet; 18 len behind Intercept with 55kg at $10.10. Marginal prospects.

Resuming after a break of six months. Finished off last preparation when last of 14 at Riccarton Park Synthetic July 9 over 1600m, 16 len behind Purple Prose carrying 56.5kg at $156.90. Previously first up; second last of 12 at Riccarton Park Synthetic June 26 over 1400m, 10 len behind Red Star Bella carrying 57.5kg at $53.80. Wait and see how she comes up.
