Pressed on to the lead however was under enormous pressure to hold spot 2.3L at Sportsbet Sandown Lakeside 2Y Mdn-Sw over 1200m. Gave a great sight out in front but was reeled in easily for third 2L at Ballarat 2Y Mdn-Sw over 1200m Synthetic.

Under pressure in the lead and had to pull out all stops to hold fifth 2.6L at Swan Hill 2Y Mdn-Sw over 975m. Led, gave everything to hold on however found one better finishing second 1.5L at Dunkeld 3Y Mdn-Sw over 1000m Soft 6. Second-up.

Sire shot onto the scene as a Spring 3 year-old winning his first four races before finishing forth in the G1 Cox Plate.
