Steward's Comments: When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding jockey stated that his mount travelled comfortably behind a moderate tempo in the early and middle stages. Jockey stated that when the leaders sprinted approaching the 400m his mount was left flat footed and was under immediate pressure. Jockey added that his mount just ground its way to the line. Jockey stated that his mount was not suited by the manner in which the race was run and he is of the opinion it would be better suited over a longer journey.
