Rdr said failed to finish race off as expected and in his opinion did not handle todays soft track conditions and may be better suited over more ground. Steward's Comments: Rdr reported her instructions were to ride the horse with cover, consistent with the colt’s most recent jump outs. She added after beginning only fairly, she elected to restrain and settle at the rear of the field to obtain cover which was further back than intended. Over race and resented the kickback and as a result, failled to finish off the race as expected and was disappointing.

Steward's Comments: On straightening was steadied and shifted out when racing close to heels. nplaced favourite ($2.45). Rider Declan Bates reported that his mount did not respond to his riding when placed under pressure and in his opinion would appreciate races over greater distance than today’s 1500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a minor laceration to its near-fore coronet.
