Select the winners of four nominated races.

Single Quaddie

Select one runner to win in each leg of the four nominated 'Quaddie' races.

Multiple Quaddie

To increase your chances you can take multiple selections in any leg.

Calculating the Cost of your Ticket

Firstly, calculate the number of combinations by multiplying the number of selections in each leg. See the following calculation and example on the marked Quaddie ticket:

1st 2nd   3rd 4th   No. of combinations
2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 16

Then to find the cost, multiply the number of combinations by the bet value. If the bet value is left blank, the bet will cost exactly half the number of combinations, and if a winning ticket, will receive half the declared dividend.

No. of combinations   Bet value   Cost of bet
16 x $2 = $32

Note: The cost of Field (FD) selections depends on the number of runners in the race.

Quaddie Cost Calculator

The following table shows alternative Quaddie combinations and the cost of each option. The table places the weight of selections in the earlier legs, but the number of selections can be swapped between legs with no change to the cost. Costs have been stated in $1 and 50 cent bet values. 50 cents is the default bet value if the bet value column is left blank.

1st 2nd 3rd 4th Cost
(50 cents)
Cost ($1)

All dividends are declared for $1, and 50 cent bets entitle you to half of the dividend.

Scratchings & Substitutes

If any of the runners in your bet have been scratched, your scratched runner will be replaced by the substitute runner (SB). The substitute declared in each leg of the Quaddie is the runner with the greatest number of win units invested upon it. TABtouch will declare the substitute as close to start time of the race as possible.

In the event that the total investment on the correct winning combination is less than $0.50, part of the net Quaddie payout pool on that meeting will be carried over to another meeting to be announced by TABtouch.

If no person selects the correct winning combination, the entire net Quaddie payout pool will be allocated to another meeting to be nominated TABtouch.

Dead Heats

Dead heats in any of the legs of the Quaddie will result in more than one winning combination. Each combination will have a separate dividend, and will be paid as a proportion of the full dividend as per standard dead heat rules.

Abandoned or Postponed Races

If a leg of the Quaddie is abandoned or postponed, all runners in that leg will be treated as winners. If all legs of the Quaddie are abandoned or postponed, all Quaddie investments will be refunded.

Commission Rate

A commission rate of 20% is deducted from gross Quaddie investments.

Pooling of Quaddie

Quaddie pools on Eastern States meetings are combined with SuperTAB.

The vast majority of WA meetings are also combined however, a small number of country meetings each week may involve WA stand alone pools.

Flexi Betting

Flexi Betting allows you to take virtually as many combinations in a Quaddie as you wish and you nominate the total amount you wish to spend.

TABtouch calculates the Flexi percentage of the investment you have placed by dividing the total spend by the number of combinations selected. The Flexi percentage must be greater than 1% for the bet to be allowed to place.

If successful, you will receive a percentage of the displayed dividend equal to the Flexi percentage of the bet you have placed.
